The YellowMaker is a business directory system written entirely in Perl. To use the YellowMaker, you must install it on your web server. Installation is relatively simple and no programming exprience is required. If you have ever uploaded a file to a web server via FTP, you can probably install the YellowMaker. You may receive installation advice from us. Please keep in mind that the cost of the YellowMaker license does not include installation or installation advice. You are merely paying for the code itself. This is why we strongly encourage you to try installing the Free Edition first.

Note that this program requires installation of Perl scripts. There is no self-executing setup file. If you have never installed a script on a server, this task could seem daunting for you, but it actually requires very little technical expertise. We have tried to keep our installation instructions as simple as possible. If you have little experience installing Perl scripts on a web server, or merely do not want to be bothered with that task, you can have the YellowMaker professionally installed with our optional services.

We highly recommend that you try installing the Free Edition of the YellowMaker prior to purchasing the YellowMaker licensed version. This will allow you to verify that the YellowMaker can be installed on your server.

Although you are permitted to customize the YellowMaker as you see fit for your own use, we do require that you keep all "powered by" notices intact throughout the YellowMaker. If you add it to your site, we'd appreciate it if you'd send us an email with your URL (we like to see the many ways people are using it).
